Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-06-08

These terms cover your use of the PrinceShade website (shade.princelundgren.com) and the PrinceShade macOS app. They’re written in plain language and kept short on purpose. By using the site or the app, you agree to them.

The short version: PrinceShade is a free macOS utility made by Prince Lundgren. Use it however you like for its intended purpose. It’s provided “as is,” with no warranty, and the developer isn’t liable for what happens when you use it. Be reasonable with the website and its feedback form.

The app

PrinceShade is distributed free through the Mac App Store. Your license to use the app is governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the App Store EULA), which applies in addition to these terms. Nothing here is meant to override that EULA for the app itself.

The website

This website provides information about PrinceShade, documentation, and a support/feedback form. You may read and share it freely. Its code, text, and branding remain the property of Prince Lundgren — please don’t reproduce the branding in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation.

Acceptable use

Don’t use the website or its feedback endpoint to do anything unlawful, abusive, or disruptive — including spamming the form, attempting to overload or probe the service, or submitting content you don’t have the right to send. The form is protected against abuse, and access may be blocked if it’s misused.

Voluntary support (“Buy me a coffee”)

The app is free. If you choose to support its development through a donation link, that contribution is entirely voluntary, buys you no additional features or obligations, and is non-refundable. It’s a thank-you, not a purchase.

No warranty

PrinceShade and this website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. The developer doesn’t guarantee the app or site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every Mac or macOS version.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Prince Lundgren is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the app or the website. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you; where that’s the case, the limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted.

Third-party links and services

The site links to third-party services (such as the Mac App Store, the developer’s portfolio, and a donation provider). Those are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which the developer doesn’t control.

Privacy

How PrinceShade handles data is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: no tracking, no ads, and your settings stay on your Mac.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
